Chelsea Handler had executive producer fired from her Netflix show

The sudden exit of the executive producer of Chelsea Handler’s new show was much less harmonious than a rosy press announcement suggested.

On Friday, Netflix sent out a press release about the departure of Bill Wolff from its series, “Chelsea,” after only nine episodes, along with a statement from Handler saying: “I’m grateful that Bill was part of the pioneering effort to get Netflix’s first talk show off the ground.”

But Page Six has learned that Wolff, who served as the executive producer of ABC’s “The View” for a year, got the boot because he clashed with Handler.

A source told us comedian Handler and Sue Murphy — a longtime collaborator who serves as senior supervising producer for the show — were “butting heads” with Wolff.

“Chelsea had Sue fire him, and they agreed to put out mutual statements being nice,” said the insider.

“But Bill and Chelsea had totally different ideas and can’t stand each other.”

A Netflix spokesperson didn’t comment, and Wolff didn’t get back to us.
