Aaron Carter endorses Donald Trump for president

Forget the Republican Party — Donald Trump is officially a member of “Aaron’s Party.”

Former pre-teen pop star Aaron Carter — younger brother of Backstreet Boy frontman Nick Carter — endorsed the presidential hopeful on Saturday, tweeting: “Does America want to have a president who FOLLOWS or someone who leads? I vote For @realdonaldtrump.”

He followed the post with a number of tweets clarifying his political stance in response to backlash from his fans.

“Good thing I live in America and I have the right to my own opinion such as a lot of my NON supporters have for me at times,” tweeted the singer, who has battled substance abuse problems and declared bankruptcy since his momentary fame.

“Some of the things Donald says I don’t agree with but some I do. It is what it is.”

After one fan called Carter out for being racist for supporting Trump, he defended himself by tweeting, “I am NOT racist I’ve been touring the world & diversifying myself in a plethora of cultures since I was 7 years old.”

He added: “People look for anything and any chance they can to hate me for something it’s always SOMETHING I fight back.”

Carter is hardly the first celebrity to speak out in support of Trump. Other bold-face names supporting the Donald include Kid Rock, Gary Busey, Azealia Banks, Tila Tequila, Stephen Baldwin, Mike Tyson, Jesse James, Ann Coulter, Hulk Hogan and Lou Ferrigno.
