See Scores’ Super Bowl ad that CBS banned for being too racy

Strippers are officially not welcome at the Super Bowl. Strip club Scores’ Super Bowl ad has been banned by CBS for being too racy.

The famed jiggle joint submitted a 30-second ad and offered to pay CBS $5 million for it to run during Sunday’s Super Bowl to promote their website Scoreslive.com.

But the ad was rejected by network execs who said the ad — which shows scantily clad, but not nude, dancers on stage in the club plus an attractive brunette in a private VIP room — “doesn’t meet the standards of the NFL.”

Scores spokesman Mark Yackow said, “We are disappointed we couldn’t use the television time but we will put the money to good use and try again next year.”

The Scores ad shows a group of dancers on stage in their underwear, with male patrons throwing dollar bills in the air, before a brunette dancer leads the camera into a private VIP room. The ad has previously run on certain cable networks. Scores has 27 clubs across the US, with a Manhattan flagship location, and locations in Atlantic City, Baltimore, Chicago, New Orleans, Houston, Jacksonville, Palm Beach and Tampa.

It is highly unlikely — even after some serious editing — that Scores’ ad would ever have made it on air during the Super Bowl. NFL advertising guidelines specifically ban ads from establishments “that feature nude or semi-nude performers.” Also banned are ads about casinos and other gambling entities, contraceptives, “male enhancement” products, tobacco products, non-FDA-approved nutritional supplements, firearms or other weapons and fireworks.

CBS didn’t immediately comment.
