Justin Bieber’s camp is accused of bribing a Canadian border official to let several members of his entourage with criminal records enter the country.
Canadian law considers individuals who have been convicted of theft, assault, manslaughter, dangerous driving, driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and trafficking in drugs or controlled substances “criminally inadmissible” and may be denied entry into Canada.
A female Niagara Falls official, who allegedly accepted thousands of dollars worth of backstage passes in exchange for members of Bieber’s crew entering the country, has been fired, TMZ confirmed Thursday.
Although it’s unclear when the bribes took place, officials caught wind of the illegal transactions when additional members of Bieber’s posse reportedly arrived at the border seeking to make the same deal.
Canada Border Services reportedly sent an email urging its employees not to take bribes and to report any misconduct.
Just this week, Bieber has been the target of a lawsuit accusing his bodyguard of assault and was also forced to pay $10,000 for abandoning a pet monkey in Germany.
Requests for comment were not immediately returned.
