Israeli president Shimon Peres, who’s stepping down from office at age 90 this month, was spotted at Fresco by Scotto in Midtown on Friday, days after a meeting at the White House on his farewell tour of the US.

Security was so tight, fellow diners were screened as they entered.

Spies said Peres was with “a group of 10, enjoying vegetable antipasto and lamb chops,” and, “The restaurant was taken over by what seemed to be US and Israeli Secret Service with bomb-sniffing dogs.”

The agents were “stationed throughout the restaurant and were even wanding any guests as they came in.” But the crowd was “impressed” to see Peres there. A diner cracked, “It was probably the safest meal they ever had.”
