Maria Shriver — whose son Patrick Schwarzenegger is dating Miley Cyrus — doesn’t approve of the pop star’s wild antics and canceled plans to attend Art Basel Miami with her brother Anthony Shriver after Miley arrived in town with Patrick in tow, sources say.
An insider tells Page Six: “Maria was going to go to Art Basel to spend some time with Anthony, but when she heard Miley was going to be there with Patrick, she canceled.” Cyrus, who’s been dating Schwarzenegger for months, was booked at the last minute to perform at Tommy Hilfiger and Jeffrey Deitch’s party at the Raleigh, and she quickly became the talk of Art Basel by stripping down onstage to silver pasties, smoking a joint, and dancing with a topless woman and a man dressed as a penis.
Miley was inseparable from Patrick, and partied at high-end strip club E11even three nights in a row. One night she made out with Paris Hilton there, sources reported. On another, she was carried out of the joint after heavy drinking.
A different source tells us Miley and Patrick were heard arguing at the Raleigh over her drug use, and that “Patrick is anti-drugs, but Miley doesn’t give a [bleep]. She smoked marijuana onstage, and God knows what else she was on for the rest of the weekend. She and Patrick were heard fighting about it, and also because his uncle Anthony had trouble getting into her party at the Raleigh. There’s no way Patrick can be linked to drug use; his family is American royalty.”
Ironically, Maria simultaneously posted a video on Twitter about the dangers of binge drinking. She wrote Friday (the night Miley was carried out of E11even), “Worth showing yr kids & talking to them about who they are & will be this weekend.”
Anthony’s a resident of Miami, where he runs charity Best Buddies. He and Miley were seen getting on famously at another private party. “Patrick’s relatives, particularly Anthony, really like Miley,” another source said. “She does a lot of good work for charity. While she can be wild, she is a sweet person.”
Shriver’s and Cyrus’ reps didn’t get back to us.
But another source said that she was not meant to go to Miami to join her brother and son. “Maria never had plans to go to Miami during Art Basel,” the source said. “She wouldn’t have been able to work that into her schedule.”
