No stranger to controversy, Rihanna sounded off on the current turmoil in Israel with a tweet she quickly regreted.

Just after noon EST, the “Pour It Up” singer tweeted out “#FreePalestine,” before deleting it just eight minutes later.

While the post can no longer be seen on her feed, a FavStar archive of the post still exists.

Rihanna’s tweet was never meant to go out in the first place, reports TMZ.

“She deleted it because it was never meant to be tweeted,” a source told the website. “She didn’t even realize it was a tweet until she started hearing from her fans.”

The singer is the second celebrity to tweet, and then quickly delete, their support for Palestine in the last week.

Over the weekend, NBA All-Star Dwight Howard posted the hashtag after being told of the most recent outbreak of violence on the Gaza Strip by another Twitter user. Like Rihanna, he quickly deleted the tweet, before profusely apologizing for it.
