RFK Jr. has ‘addictive personality’ for drugs and sex

Jerry Oppenheimer, who is penning the first-ever biography of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., says Bobby’s latest alleged affair shouldn’t come as a surprise to his fiancée, actress Cheryl Hines.

“Anyone who knows Bobby intimately should be aware that he has an addictive personality involving both drugs and sex,” the best-selling author told me.

The National Enquirer reported earlier this month that Kennedy had been carrying on an affair with a married woman while he was dating Hines, whom he plans to marry this summer on Cape Cod.

The Daily Mail claimed this week that the woman is the wife of a Connecticut plastic surgeon who is now divorcing her. According to the Daily Mail, she met Kennedy at a gym.

“Bobby seemingly was able to bring his drug addiction under control after his arrest for heroin possession back in the early 1980s,” said Oppenheimer.

“It’s clear that he has not been able to control his compulsive and reckless obsession with sex, which has ruined two of his marriages.”

Kennedy’s estranged second wife, Mary Richardson, committed suicide in 2012, six months after Kennedy started dating the “Suburgatory” actress. “Mary couldn’t deal with his philandering — one of the reasons why she hung herself,” Oppenheimer said.

“I still find it amazing that Cheryl Hines wants to join the ranks of Kennedy wives who have gone through hell,” the author added. “Maybe, with this latest reported affair in the headlines, she might back off — at least until he got some help.”

The bio is Oppenheimer’s 12th book and second about the Kennedy family. His “The Other Mrs. Kennedy” was about RFK Jr.’s mother, Ethel.

Kennedy did not respond to a request for comment by press time.
