The split between Russian model Irina Shayk and Cristiano Ronaldo came after the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl finally believed those rumors about the Portuguese soccer stud hooking up with other women, Page Six has exclusively learned.
We’re told Shayk, whose rep confirmed the split to Page Six last week, was told by numerous sources that Real Madrid star Ronaldo had affairs during their five-year, long-distance relationship, which led to her calling it off around New Year’s Eve.
These affairs reportedly include a 2012 fling with Rita Pereira, a Portuguese TV presenter who has also appeared in Playboy.
Pereira was spotted hanging out for hours with Ronaldo in a Portugese nightclub he owns and was suspected of hooking up with the Real Madrid striker.
In 2013, Brazilian model Andressa Urach, a runner-up for the esteemed title of “Miss BumBum” in the country’s annual beautiful-bottom contest, claimed she slept with Ronaldo after meeting him in Madrid’s Villa Magna Hotel.
Ronaldo denied the claims at the time and was photographed stepping out with a glum-looking Shayk.
And in July, Page Six reported that Ronaldo was spotted partying with J.R. Smith and bikini-clad babes nearby at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas while Shayk was busy promoting her movie, “Hercules,” with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Los Angeles.
Reports had spread that Shayk and Ronaldo, both 29, split after five years because she didn’t attend the 60th birthday for his mother, Dolores, in January.
But Shayk’s camp quickly denied that, telling us:
“She has been close with his family throughout the course of their relationship. Any negative rumors with regards to Irina and the Ronaldo family are completely false and have not been a factor in the cause of the spilt.”
Shayk’s rep had no comment when asked about the affair rumors. A rep for Ronaldo didn’t get back to us.
