Broadway producer hit by car before Tonys

A producer of Tony-nominated “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” was hit by a car on her way to pick up some bling to wear to the June 8 awards, we hear.

S.D. Wagner — whose credits also include Tony-nominated “A Raisin in the Sun” as well as “Betrayal” — was headed to high-end jeweler Verdura when “a town car crashed into her while she was crossing 55th Street, sending her flying into the air before the car sped away,” a source said.

Luckily, Wagner was relatively unharmed.

“She’s bruised all along one side of her body, but is otherwise totally fine,” said a friend, adding, “Because her Tony night dress shows some skin, she has to have a makeup artist hide the bruises for the awards.”

A rep for the show brushed off the hit and run by joking, “We didn’t get a look at the driver, but we aren’t counting out the possibility it was a producer from a competing show . . . Tony season can be murder!”

Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy were seen at “Gentleman’s Guide” last week — Dancy starred with its lead Jefferson Mays in “Journey’s End” on Broadway.
