Protests against Beverly Hills Hotel fading

The boycott of the Beverly Hills Hotel isn’t working.

Sources say the Pink Palace, owned by the gay-hating Sultan of Brunei, is filled with overnight guests, and its landmark Polo Lounge is crowded with lunch and dinner patrons.

The hotel lost lots of corporate bookings and ballroom events in May after the Sultan imposed Shariah law in his oil-rich fiefdom on the coast of Borneo. When fully enacted, the law calls for homosexuals to be punished with death by stoning.

Among the famous names boycotting parent company the Dorchester Collection: Ellen DeGeneres, Elton John and Vogue’s Anna Wintour. Top talent agencies told staffers they couldn’t put meals there on their expense accounts.

But tourists never got the memo. “The place is packed,” said one local.

A spokeswoman for the hotel declined to comment.
