Following in the tech-savvy footsteps of the likes of Kim Kardashian, Tom Hanks has launched an iPad app.
The Oscar-winning actor last week launched Hanx Writer, which simulates the experience and sounds of typing on a manual typewriter, but with modern conveniences, like a delete key.
Hanks, who has a collection of 200 typewriters and prefers working on the old-school machines, created the app with mobile developer Hitcents.
The basic app is free, but users can download upgraded versions with features like colored ribbons for $2.99. Kardashian’s “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” app, which allows users to um, find virtual fame, is on track to make $200 million in revenue.
Sigh.
