Michael Wolff files for divorce without telling wife

Ladies of New York, rejoice: Thick-lipped lothario Michael Wolff will soon be officially a single man.

The USA Today media critic has filed for divorce from lawyer Alison Anthoine, from whom he separated in 2009 when, as a 55-year-old Vanity Fair writer, he pursued 28-year-old intern Victoria Floethe.

Five years after the breakup, bald and trout-pouted Wolff filed for divorce last week in Manhattan Supreme Court. It seems he and Floethe, now a journalist for Look TV, where she dishes out relationship advice including “7 Ways to Train Your Man” (in which she compares men to dogs), are still close — a few days ago she posted an Instagram picture of his face with the words, “Writer’s brow after a million words…#permanentscowl.”

Anthoine told Gawker she was unaware that Wolff had filed for divorce, saying, “This is the first time I’ve heard of it.” She added that they had intended to resolve things amicably, “We don’t speak often.”

While Wolff didn’t get back to us Tuesday night, Alison’s mother Edith Anthoine told us of the divorce news, “Well, good!”
