Before his death on Monday, Robin Williams set up trust funds for his three children, Zachary, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 22.
Williams — who was found dead of an apparent suicide at age 63 — established a three-part trust so his children wouldn’t receive the money in a lump sum, reports TMZ.
At 21, each child would receive one-third; at 25, they would get half of the remaining amount, and at 30, the remainder would be handed over.
Because of Zelda and Cody’s ages, they have yet to receive the full amount.
It’s unknown how much money Williams set aside for his children, but his third wife, Susan Schneider, will likely receive a sizable amount of money, too.
Some estimates put Williams’ net worth at $130 million in 2012. But in 2013, Williams revealed he was on the verge of bankruptcy after two divorces, reports Fox News.
In an effort to pay off his debts, Williams returned to TV to star in “The Crazy Ones” with Sarah Michelle Gellar and put his $35 million house on the market.
“There are bills to pay,” said Williams. “My life has downsized, in a good way. I’m selling the ranch up in Napa. I just can’t afford it anymore,” he told Parade magazine.
He divorced his first wife, Valerie Velardi, in 1988, and his second wife, Marsha Garces, in 2008. “Divorce is expensive,” said Williams. “I used to joke they were going to call it ‘all the money,’ but they changed it to ‘alimony.’ It’s ripping your heart through your wallet.”
