Holly Peterson gathered male pals at Omar’s in the West Village for a reading of her novel, “The Idea of Him.”

She said she wrote her book, about falling in love with the idea of someone, from experience: “Long hair, French accent, British accent, cool downtown rebel, drug dealer — in high school. Anyone who has a ‘thing,’ I latch onto that thing. Then, five years later, I’m out to dinner with them and I realize, ‘I don’t even like you.’ ”
She’s divorced from ex-Goldman partner Richard Kimball, famed for throwing wild post-split parties in his Hamptons house and his West Village pad before he was himself thrown out.
