Teresa Giudice: Legal drama has been an ‘amazing education’

Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice tried to dodge questions about her upcoming prison sentencing on “The View” Thursday.

“This past year has been like a roller coaster,” the outspoken reality star, 42, said. “It’s been amazing education on the way our legal system works. But right now, what I’m focusing on is my family.”

Giudice, who was accompanied by Dina Manzo and Melissa Gorga, said the sentencing was postponed from July to September due to the loss of her father-in-law.

Gorga, who is married to Giudice’s brother, added that the trying times have brought the once-feuding family closer. “Family goes through ups and downs all the time. It’s a roller coaster … We go up. We go down. We’re family. At the end of the day, we back each other up. We’re family.”

According to People, Teresa’s husband, Joe, could face between 37 and 46 months behind bars, while she could face from 21 to 27 months in jail. However, she may ask for probation instead.

In March, the couple pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges — including bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud and failing to pay taxes.
