“19 Kids and Counting” stars Jill and Derick Dillard have only been married for 61 days, but the couple has just announced they have a baby on the way.
“We’re having a baby!” Jill (formerly Duggar) Dillard told People. “We are so excited.”
Jill, 23, and Derick Dillard, 25, tied the knot on June 21, where they shared their first kiss in front of over 1,000 wedding guests.
“About 30 days after Jill and Derick got married they gathered everyone in the living room and shared the news,” Jill’s father, Jim Bob, 49, revealed. “Everyone was clapping and cheering, and we were in shock, too.”
After two negative pregnancy tests, she was convinced by her family to take one more test. The third time was the charm, though — it was positive.
“It was surreal,” Derick said. “We were shocked. Both of us are so excited.”
The newest addition to the Duggar clan is due in March.
The couple met via Skype last August after Jim Bob introduced the two via email. Derick, now an accountant in Rogers, Ark., was in Nepal doing missionary work at the time of the introduction. Their courtship officially began in November.
“We got to know each other in the first few months pretty quickly,” Jill told People in March. “I was in love with someone I had never met in person, but we really knew each other well.”
A rep for TLC has confirmed the news.
