Chrissy Teigen officially signed off Twitter on Thursday after receiving death threats aimed at her and her husband, John Legend, from users upset over her controversial Ottowa shooting tweets.

On Wednesday, the 28-year-old swimsuit model took to social media to share her feelings about the fatal shooting in Canada, calling the tragedy just another “Wednesday” in America. Even though she meant the remarks as a dig to America’s gun control laws, the backlash to her tweets got heated.

On Thursday, Teigen re-emerged on Twitter, hoping people would have calmed down overnight, but things got worse from there.

Though she left Twitter for Instagram, Teigen hasn’t updated her Instagram account since announcing her Twitter exit.
