Adore South Beach is a flop

Las Vegas promoter Cy Waits fled Miami after failing to make it at Adore nightclub in South Beach.

The club last week announced it would close permanently after nightlife firm KNR Hospitality backed out of a deal to acquire it.

Waits, who managed XS and Tryst nightclubs in Vegas with twin brother Jesse Waits, arrived in Miami last fall to open much-ballyhooed, 12,000-square-foot Adore.

It opened in March, but shortly after, investors filed a lawsuit alleging Waits’ partner Amit Raizada mismanaged funds.

In July, KNR announced it was taking over the venue. But three weeks later, they backed out of the deal.

A rep explained, “They realized it would not be a welcome addition to their portfolio.”

Manager Jenn White e-mailed staff on Tuesday about the closure: “We were overbudget in construction, delayed in opening, and have not been generating sufficient business to even cover costs. With [. . .] no clear path to long-term success, OFG Management [Raizada’s copany] has resigned as the management company. Since all of you are employees of that company, I regret that we must part ways.”
