Future Islands — the indie band that shot into the Top 40 after appearing on “Late Show With David Letterman” — named its new album “Singles,” and some fans are taking the title to heart.

When the group played a Vice festival show in Toronto late last month, execs at the group’s label noticed an unusual Google alert amid more customary reviews and news from the show: A woman wrote a Craigslist “Missed Connection” to a man, pleading, “Locked eyes during Future Islands … and I want to see you again! Les do dis. I was wearing work clothes and I work on Bay Street, sooooo yaaaa.”

“Yaaaa” perhaps being a Canadian mating call?

The band, which has gotten more than 2 million views for its March Letterman appearance, plays in Brooklyn on Aug. 7Billboard just called their single, “Seasons (Waiting On You),” one of the year’s best so far.
