Daniel Boulud deployed some impressive pyrotechnics involving baked goods and a DJ set by Marky Ramone at his rocking, fifth-year anniversary party for his restaurant DBGB on the Bowery in an ode to legendary rock lounge CBGB.
Chefs Wylie Dufresne, Anita Lo, Johnny Iuzzini, Lee Hanson, Riad Nasr and George Mendes helped Boulud set a 7-foot-tall baked Alaska on fire, dazzling a crowd including Cronuts creator Dominique Ansel, François Payard and Andrew Carmellini.
Guests inhaled burgers, mussels, clams and oysters, plus a pork link studded with black trumpet mushrooms called the Back in Black Birthday Banger, named after AC/DC’s hit “Back in Black.”
