Hugh Jackman helping Aussie pal shed weight, run NYC Marathon

Hugh Jackman has persuaded an overweight childhood friend, Australian radio shock jock and reality TV star Gus Worland, to run the TCS New York City Marathon this November in order to get healthy and drop some pounds.

We’re told superfit “Wolverine” star Jackman has even offered to cheer 308-pound Worland along the 26.2-mile course and greet him at the finish line in Central Park if his filming schedule allows.

Worland has joined the New York Road Runners Team for Kids charity squad to fund youth running programs throughout the five boroughs.

The radio host, who hopes to shed about 90 pounds, will also document his marathon training for his Foxtel A&E channel in Australia.
