Property titan lawyers up after drug bust

Mark Perlbinder, one of the bigger landlords in Manhattan, has assembled a dream team to defend himself after being busted on drug charges in Bridgehampton earlier this month.

Perlbinder, 71, was arrested July 2 after picking up a package that had been sent from the city on a Hampton Jitney bus. The package allegedly contained Xanax, oxycodone pills and cocaine.

The 5-foot-5 businessman was soon repped by Gerald Shargel, whose clients have included John Gotti, Ted Ammon’s killer Danny Pelosi and David Letterman’s extorter Robert “Joe” Halderman.

Perlbinder also hired Sag Harbor lawyer Edward Burke Jr., who has repped Lizzie Grubman, Jason Kidd and Goldman Sachs exec Jason Lee, who is facing trial for rape.

Covering all his bases, Howard Rubenstein’s firm Rubenstein Associates was hired to handle p.r. Perlbinder, whose house and garden on 30 acres in Sagaponack was featured in the New York Times, built Morgan Court (at 211 Madison Ave.) and also co-owns River Court (429 E. 52nd St.) and The Revere (400 E. 54th St.).

Shargel issued a statement: “This matter is not what it appears to be.”

The next court date is in August.
