Prom puts stars in teens eyes — and on their arms!

Patrick Farves is hardly the first kid to set his sights on a famous prom date, though he may be the first to get suspended for having the guts to go through with asking her — in this case, his intended was Miss America.

After the 18-year-old Pennsylvania student defied school administrators by popping the question to beauty queen Nina Davuluri, he was handed three days of in-school suspension. Even Davuluri’s protests couldn’t change the outcome.

But not all teens who aim so high face such disappointment. Here’s a look at some other famous prom proposals — and not all end in tragedy.

Miley Cyrus

Seventeen-year-old Matt Peterson took to YouTube in February to ask the apple of his eye, Miley Cyrus, to his Arizona high school prom. Though she couldn’t make it, she softened the blow by instead asking Peterson to join her on her Bangerz tour in Phoenix.

Peterson had a mouth-covered tuxedo designed specially for the occasion, and joined the “Wrecking Ball” singer onstage for what he called “the best day of his life.”

Jennifer Lawrence

Dunlap, Ill., native Max Riley knew it would take a lot to impress “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence, so he put together a YouTube video featuring his finest qualities: athleticism, intelligence, friendliness and humor. Though the teen was able to rack up nearly 40,000 views in 2013, there’s no word on whether Lawrence ever got back to Riley.

Justin Bieber

Before Bieber’s behavior took a turn for the worse, he was the apple of every teen girl’s eye back in 2011. Cady Eimer, an 18-year-old from Virginia, posted a poorly rhyming rap to YouTube asking the “Baby” singer to her 2012 prom.

“Being a normal teen is what it’s all about/So you’ll have one night without any stress/Dance to some songs, take a few pictures, hang out with friends, then chill out after prom/It’ll be a night that you’ll always remember.”

Somehow, her lack of musical talent caught Bieber’s attention. He passed on prom, but invited Eimer as his date to the 2012 Billboard Awards.

Taylor Swift

Kevin McGuire’s proposal to Taylor Swift turned into a year-long “love story” with many ups and downs. In 2012 McGuire created a Facebook group, “Taylor Swift take KEVIN MCGUIRE TO PROM!” to capture the attention of the pop starlet.

It quickly went viral with over 128,000 likes. The teen was battling with leukemia at the time. Swift had to say “no prom,” but said “yes” to the American County Music awards and invited McGuire as her date to the ceremony.

Unfortunately, shortly before the event, McGuire’s health declined and he had to postpone. But they finally met in person at 2013’s American Country Museum awards.

John Mayer

Hot off John Mayer’s breakup with Katy Perry, high school senior Rachel Pollock decided to make her move and ask him to her 2014 prom in Austin, Texas. Pollock, who is surprisingly talented, put together an impressive tune to serenade the “Your Body Is A Wonderland” crooner.

“We can find a burning room, slow-dance and say what we need to say/We can put our feet up and sit around, waiting on the world to change/Dear Mr. Mayer, will you go to prom with me?”

No word on whether Mayer accepted or declined the invite.

Victoria Justice

Max Whitmore strung together an elaborate video chock full of character testimony when he popped the question to Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice in 2013.

“He’s nice, he’ s smart, he does other great things,” one friend contributed.

Justice filmed her own response, letting the Livingston, NJ, student down easy. She invited the teen to grab lunch with her the next time she was in New York, and he graciously accepted.

However, she got the final laugh by surprising Whitmore at his school several weeks later.

Kate Upton

Jake Davidson got on bended knee to ask Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton to his Los Angeles prom in 2013.

“Kate, great moments are born from great opportunity, and that is what you have here today. A chance to make a nice guy’s senior year the best ever,” he professed sincerely into the camera.

Unfortunately, due to previous obligations, Upton had to turn him down.

But don’t shed a tear for Davidson just yet. After hearing that Upton was unable to attend, fellow cover girl Nina Agdal stepped up to the plate.

Joe Jonas

Why should high schoolers get to have all of the fun? Pepperdine University senior Shaina Kohli took her proposal to the next level by inviting Joe Jonas as her date to a sorority formal in spring 2013.

The video pulled over 300,000 views on YouTube, but that’s nothing compared to the 600,000 views Jonas’ elaborate response received.

He was unable to attend Kohli’s school event, but instead invited her to the opening night of his tour in Chicago.

“Shaina, you’ve been holding your weight in this relationship way too long, now it’s time for me to do my part. Please accept my invite as my special guest.”

The surprise didn’t stop there. Shortly after releasing his response video, Jonas dressed in disguise to surprise Kohli as she made an appearance on the “Today” show to talk about her viral video.
