Thieves steal trailer full of designer goods for cancer fund

Hamptons charity shopping event Super Saturday narrowly avoided disaster after thieves broke into a storage facility in Hauppauge and stole a trailer filled with designer goods.

Reps for today’s event, which benefits cancer research, confirm that the bandits made off by hooking the trailer to their car, but say the designers have rallied.

We’re told Haute Hippie, Magaschoni, Ramy Brook, Hampton Sun, Magnificent Baby, Dooney & Bourke and John Barrett, who all had goods stolen, have sent down replacement items that were being driven to Nova’s Ark Project in Water Mill on Friday.

Henri Bendel has sent a giant truck full of goods.

Audra Moran, CEO of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, says she “is proud of our designers who continue to show their support for OCRF year after year. They’ve really come together in this final hour to replenish as much of the missing merchandise to ensure the event is still a success.”

This year’s event is hosted by Kelly Ripa and Donna Karan.
