Marlo draws in starry crowd on opening night of Hamptons show

Marlo Thomas got a visit from Martha Stewart and Katie Couric in her dressing room Friday night, following her performance in “Clever Little Lies” at Guild Hall in East Hampton.

In the comedy, Marlo portrays an overprotective mother trying to keep her son’s marriage together after he confesses to having an affair with a trainer in his gym.

Later backstage, Stewart — referring to the theme of infidelity — proclaimed loudly, “Didn’t this happen to all of us?”

Couric immediately replied, “GOD, I hope not. I just got married [to John Molner]!”

Thomas is currently the toast of the Hamptons in the show, which runs until Aug. 3 and is rumored to be heading to the New York stage.

Saturday was her official opening night with audience members Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Blythe Danner, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, Bob Balaban, Barbara Walters, Nick Pileggi, Sandy Gallin, Joy Behar, Peggy Siegal, Arlene Alda and Helmut Lang, who all jumped to their feet for a standing ovation.

Broadway producers also scouting opening night included Daryl and Jordan Roth and Roy Furman.

Marlo’s pals later marched across the Montauk Highway to her post-performance supper at historic inn the Baker House, catered by Cornelia Guest.

Marlo was heard saying husband Phil Donahue is an avid fisherman and has a boat out east for the summer.

Marlo said, “My husband is so politically correct, he throws the fish back and I have to pay top-dollar for seafood salad at Loaves & Fishes.”
