An actress in the hit Netflix prison show “Orange Is the New Black” has pressed stalking charges against a former pal, who a law enforcement source says barraged her with emails and texts.
Jeanine Heller was arraigned late Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court on a misdemeanor charge for allegedly sending small-screen star Taryn Manning hundreds of online messages between April and July, the source said.
A judge released Heller without bail, but issued orders of protection barring her from any contact with Manning, Manning’s mother, Sharon — or the Manning family’s dog, Penguin.
“The last person who violated my orders of protection is now in jail,” warned Judge Lisa Sokoloff before releasing Heller.
The pretty bleach blonde would not speak to a Post reporter as she left court. Her next court date is Aug. 6.
Manning plays homophobic, born-again Christian ex-meth addict Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett on “Orange.”
She so bedevils lead character Piper Chapman that Piper repeatedly socks her in the teeth throughout the hit show’s first season.
A fan favorite, Manning’s character was promoted to a series regular for the dramedy’s second season.
Manning — who has been parading around with bleached blond hair of late — has insisted she is nothing like Pennsatucky in real life, particularly when it comes to gay issues.
“I have about five [gay best friends],” she told Us Weekly recently.
“I think some people who are small-minded associate me with that character,” she told the magazine. “There’s a lot of conflict in playing her sometimes because that’s so not me. She’s prejudiced and so anti-gay.”
Still, she loves the show, the actress insisted.
“There’s so much excitement on the set,” she said.
When she’s not pretending to be in prison, Manning is a singer in an electro-pop band and a fashion designer.
Manning is also a third cousin to Giants quarterback Eli Manning and his Denver Bronco brother Peyton.
