Art insiders will head to the slopes this summer, when the Aspen Art Museum unveils its new 33,000-square-foot building by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban.

MoMA director Glenn Lowry and LA County Museum of Art director Michael Govan got a private tour of the space last week, we hear, before an official Aug. 2 ribbon-cutting.

The museum’s annual gala, ArtCrush, begins July 30 and is expected to bring out top artists as well as collectors including Domenico De Sole, Bob Gersh, Robert Hurst and Amy Phelan.
