Lohan snags $1M for memoir

Lindsay Lohan is about to sign a $1 million contract with HarperCollins to write the story of her troubled life. But she thought she’d get even more money for a book deal.

The “Liz & Dick” actress kept a journal during her last stint in rehab in 2013, and that diary will be the core for her memoir.

“It’s more or less an autobiography, but she had a minimal number of sample pages,” a publishing source told me.

Lindsay’s agent, Scott Waxman, met with several publishing houses and tried to get a deal for $5 million, but no one would bid that high.

“There was initial interest, but everybody backed off. There was concern she wouldn’t deliver,” said my source.

HarperCollins had no comment. Lohan’s publicist Tej Herring said, “There have been some conversations, but nothing official yet.”

Lindsay is seen reading from her journal to her mother, Dina, on her eight-part reality show, debuting Sunday night on OWN. The series chronicles Lohan’s struggle to stay sober and resurrect her career.

In a two-minute trailer for the program, a producer is heard telling Oprah Winfrey, “She has changed things every single day. [She’s] not following the rules . . . not participating.” Replies Winfrey: “This is exactly what everybody said was going to happen. And I believed differently.”
