Adam Levine is used to attention, but it’s unlikely he anticipated the scrutiny his latest hairdo would bring.
The perpetually stubbly 35-year-old posted a selfie featuring his fiancée, Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo, to Twitter on Saturday, but the only thing anyone noticed was the Maroon 5 frontman’s brand new blond hair.
Levine offered little context for the color change, simply captioning the photo, “Apocalypse prep course complete.”
It is possible that the switch could be for an upcoming role. The singer has been acting more and more, including making his big-screen debut in “Begin Again,” which premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
But while Levine wasn’t forthcoming with an explanation for the drastic change, he did respond to the negative reactions he received from fans on Twitter on Sunday.
Levine can currently be seen on the latest season of “The Voice,” alongside Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher.
The singer will wed his 24-year-old bride-to-be this summer.
