Fresh off their $14 million purchase of Le Beau Chateau in Connecticut from the estate of the late, eccentric heiress Huguette Clark, designer Reed Krakoff and his interior designer wife Delphine have just plunked down $28 million to buy a formidable townhouse that once housed the New York Observer.

The home, at 54 E. 64th St., is “like a piece of a castle in New York,” a spy said.

Listing broker Paula Del Nunzio, of Brown Harris Stevens, could not be reached for comment.

The Krakoffs recently sold their previous New York manse for $51 million. They also own property in Paris and the onetime childhood summer estate of Jackie Kennedy in East Hampton, which is called Lasata.
