Caroline Wozniacki on online dating: ‘I’m not that desperate’

Don’t expect Caroline Wozniacki to turn to the Internet for love.

Even though it seems like everyone is on OKCupid or Tinder, the stigma surrounding online dating has yet to dissipate for the 23-year-old tennis pro.

“I think I’m not that desperate,” she said after her 6-3, 6-0 first-round win over Israel’s Shahar Peer at Wimbledon on Tuesday, according to AFP.

“I’ll just see what happens. I’m perfectly fine being single at the moment,” she continued. “It’s pretty hard to sweep me off my feet. It would have to take someone very special. I guess when you least expect it, it’s going to come. Right now I’m just into my tennis. And playing here, it’s great. That’s what I’m focused on.”

Wozniacki has been single since May, when former fiancé Rory McIlroy ended their engagement just days after the wedding invitations had been sent out.

To make matters worse, it’s been reported that the Northern Irish golfer, 25, ended things with a brief phone call that she initially thought was a joke.

But still, new love might be on the horizon. Wozniacki, once ranked No. 1 in the world, noticed Spanish tennis heartthrob Feliciano Lopez in the crowd during her match.

“Yeah. I noticed he was on the sidelines in Eastbourne. He’s a great guy. Playing well … this is very awkward,” she admitted.
