Cameron Diaz is ‘so proud’ of Gwyneth and Chris’ ‘uncoupling’

Still confused about “Conscious Uncoupling“?

Cameron Diaz is here to help.

“I think it’s actually a very elevated and conscious and realized statement,” she tells “Extra” of her pal Gwyneth Paltrow‘s term for ending her decade-long marriage to Chris Martin.

“People so often think that when people, like when they break up, that they have to hate each other, that they can’t be friends, that they can’t root for one and other, that they can’t have a partnership … and what they have together is a family, that foundation,” she explains.

Diaz, 41, also stressed that the couple put in work before ultimately deciding to separate.

“I think that when people like Chris and Gwyneth, who really worked hard to be friends and to keep the things that are really good and work in their relationship, which is being friends and being parents, which they are amazing at. They are such good friends. Like really beautiful friends,” she says.

Diaz continues lending her support, “People go separate ways in other aspects of their life, and I think it’s really brave of them to phrase it that way and let people see that it actually can be done,” she says. “You can actually take separate paths as individuals. Leaving as a couple and deciding to stay together as parents and as friends … I think it’s beautiful. I’m so proud of them.”
