Isabel Vincent — my New York Post colleague who wrote “Gilded Lily,” a biography of serial widow Lily Safra — was pleasantly surprised when she checked into The Gilded Lily, a bed and breakfast in Boston.
“I actually brought a copy of my book thinking they had never heard of it, and was stunned to learn that they had a copy in every room,” Vincent said.
Owner James Cullion explained that his guests just started showing up randomly with copies of the book.
“So, it’s on the bedside table, where you would normally find a Bible,” Cullion said.
Safra sued Vincent’s publisher in Brazil and prevented the book’s release there in Safra’s homeland.
Vincent said, “They banned me in Brazil, but I guess I’m going strong in Boston.”
