Fashion editors Stephen Gan and Cecilia Dean in business split

Fashion editors Stephen Gan and Cecilia Dean, the creative duo behind V and VMAN magazines, are splitting up, Page Six has exclusively learned.

Gan and Dean have been longtime partners in Fashion Media Group, which publishes V, VMAN, Visionaire and Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book.

But we’re told Dean, a former model who founded Visionaire in 1991, is cutting ties with Gan, who is a creative director at Harper’s Bazaar and CR Fashion Book.

We also hear their longtime collaborator and makeup artist James Kaliardos will continue to work with Dean on future ventures.

Sources tell us the split is over Gan devoting more resources to CR Fashion Book than to V.

It’s unclear whether the titles will be split between the former partners. But sources at V deny that Roitfeld and CR had anything to do with the breakup.

And Gan said, “CR Fashion Book has been profitable since day one. Unlike most magazines founded in the past [few] years, it covered the initial investment by the time the first issue hit newsstands.”
