There’s more trouble for Zac Efron.
The “That Awkward Moment” star and a man he identified as his bodyguard were involved in a brawl with at least three other people in the Skid Row section of Los Angeles early Sunday, TMZ reports.
Patrolling police who spotted the incident questioned Efron, 26, who told them he and his companion had run out of gas and were waiting in their car for a tow truck when they threw a bottle out the window, resulting in it smashing on the pavement near a group of transients.
Efron alleged the group confronted him and his bodyguard about purposely throwing the bottle at them. That’s when Efron says his bodyguard was attacked by two of them and that when the actor exited the vehicle to help, he was punched in the mouth.
“It was the hardest I’ve ever been hit in my life,” Efron, who suffered a broken jaw after slipping in a puddle of water in his home last November, supposedly told police.
Efron completed rehab twice last year for cocaine and alcohol abuse, but a source told the site the actor was “obviously intoxicated” that evening.
No one was arrested.
