‘Maid’s apartment’ at 15 Central Park West sells for $3M

The rich get richer. Sandy Weill just sold his “maid’s apartment” at 15 Central Park West for around $3 million, more than three times what the former head of Citibank paid for it in 2007.

The billionaire had already sold his penthouse in the city’s most expensive building for $88 million, more than double his purchase price.

Weill actually lived in the staff unit both while renovating the penthouse and after selling it to Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev.

According to the book “House of Outrageous Fortune” by Michael Gross, Weill got a substantial discount as part of his negotiation for the penthouse — “picking up a sixth-floor staff unit in the base of the tower with Broadway views for $978,000; by that time, its official price was $2.3 million.”

Weill first put the 1,079-square-foot maid’s apartment on the market for $6.25 million — a substantial drop from what he ended up accepting.
