The crowd at Club 55 in St. Tropez recognized Don Johnson, whose “Miami Vice” show has been airing in Europe for eons.
But only the Americans at the beachside restaurant recognized his table mates: Revlon billionare Ronald Perelman, former MTV chief Tom Freston and Clear Channel honcho John Sykes.
What were they talking about? “My guess would be the possibility of Ron entering the bidding for Vice Media. Freston is a key adviser and minority shareholder of Vice,” said my source.
It would seem a great gimmick to get Johnson involved, since nobody is more associated with the name than he. Even in France, he’s known as the guy from “Miami Vice.”
