Oscar-winning director-producer Brian Grazer is engaged to Veronica Smiley, chief marketing officer of hotel management company SBE.
Grazer proposed at sunset Saturday on the picturesque roof of the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica.
But his perfect Hollywood proposal almost ended in disaster when he lost the ring moments before getting down on bended knee.
A witness tells Page Six, “Somehow, the ring fell out of Brian’s pocket. After a frantic search he found it, but only because it was such a big diamond, it didn’t fall through the slats on the wooden floor.”
Smiley accepted, and the couple are now planning their wedding.
Grazer is working on a new season of “24” and a James Brown biopic with Mick Jagger.
