Stars flock to the premiere of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’

“Much Ado About Nothing” had something for a lot of actors Monday, a perfect night for al fresco Shakespeare in the Park.

The show’s opening night at the Delacorte Theater drew Bryan Cranston, America Ferrera, Matthew Morrison, Patti LuPone, Steve Martin, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Dana Delany, Cherry Jones and John Lithgow, who will take the stage next month with Annette Bening in “King Lear.”

After the romantic comedy got a standing ovation, everyone celebrated on the lawn under Belvedere Castle, sipping wine and marveling at the Bard’s genius.

Best line: Playboy Benedick, played by Hamish Linklater, having fallen hopelessly in love with Beatrice, played by real-life girlfriend Lily Rabe, explains, “When I said I would die a bachelor, I did not think I should live till I were married.” No laugh track was required.
