Michael Fassbender felt ‘liberated’ in papier-mâché head

Michael Fassbender liked acting in the giant papier-mâché head he wore to play the off-beat leader of an eccentric rock band in new movie “Frank.”

“It was quite liberating to hide behind a mask; it encourages a level of mischievousness,” he told us at a Sunshine Landmark screening.

“I wish I could do everything in the head.” Fassbender already knew how to play guitar, but co-star Maggie Gyllenhaal learned to play electronic synths.

“I think I played all the instruments in it as well as a chimpanzee,” she said.
