As much as fans may want to associate Adam Driver with his character on “Girls,” the actor couldn’t be more different.

It’s hard to imagine Adam Sackler, the character the 30-year-old plays on the HBO dramedy, enlisting in the Marines or getting married, two things Driver’s done.

But while the real Adam may come off as more stable than his fictional counterpart, there are still some similarities. Few would be surprised to hear that the muscle-bound thespian started a fight club while growing up in Mishawaka, Ind.

“I think we probably came up with some rules,” he says in an interview in the summer issue of M. “No hitting in the balls, a good rule. There was a guy that rode by on a bike one time. He said, ‘What are you guys doing?’ So I fought him.”

Other activities during Driver’s youth included trying to set things on fire and dumpster-diving.

“We would climb radio towers, set things on fire,” he says. “We tried to get a tire on fire. That was really hard. There’s a place behind Kroger where we would dumpster-dive for potato chips. One dumpster, there was a chip factory behind it, and they used to throw out all the old potato chips.”

Next, Driver takes on a still-mysterious role in “Star Wars: Episode VII.”
