‘Biggest Loser’ revamps after winner’s shocking weight loss

Bob Harper, a trainer on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” says new rules are being put in place since the show drew criticism when last season’s winner, Rachel Frederickson, lost a dramatic 155 pounds in seven months.

“I know that after the shock of that weight loss, I think the producers are in meetings right now trying to figure out how it can be regulated more,” Harper told us at Self magazine’s Workout in the Park Saturday. “I think you are going to be seeing new rules … I hope Rachel is good, I hope she is happy.”

Frederickson’s frame drew backlash in February when she revealed her new figure on the season finale, going from 260 pounds to 105 pounds. When it comes to people taking it too far, Harper tells us, “You don’t want to ever go too extreme, because what’s going to happen? You’re going to get burned out … you’re going to get like, ‘I’m not doing this [bleep] anymore, it’s nuts.’ So you find a certain amount of balance … to be able to sustain this lifestyle.”

A “Biggest Loser” rep said, “The producers routinely look for ways to improve the show.”
