Pierce Brosnan’s character in “A Long Way Down,” a suicidal TV personality, is based on real people.
“I watched a few morning hosts,” he said at a screening. “They’re just so devilishly entertaining … There was a blend of a number of characters.”
Brosnan met one in France: “There was one guy I was studying, and he showed up at La Colombe d’Or. We sat and had a drink with him and his wife. Charming fellow.”
Let the guessing begin, but one website suggests it could be the UK’s Richard Madeley.
