Comedian pokes fun at Blake Lively’s site… on her site

Blake Lively’s new lifestyle site Preserve seems to poke fun at hipsters — and itself — in a post by comic David Cross, written under the name Sir Willups Brightslymoore.

In the piece titled, “Flower Beards: Summer’s Hottest Trend? Or Death Sentence?” Cross laments the death of his friend Tyler, the creator of the app “Castrator,” which “let you rate the casts of people who’ve broken bones.”

The piece says Tyler was beaten by “Normies” on his way to a “Greek Yogurteria/tattoo parlor before a “Girls” marathon “to celebrate Lena Dunham’s 100,000th tweet.”

After name checking hipster faves like the Brompton fold-up bike and a Warby Parker monocle (similar to pricey items for sale on Lively’s site), Cross surmises that Tyler “didn’t deserve the kind of fate that befell him that night. I mean, yes, some of us thought that flower beard thing he insisted on walking around in was stupid, but come on, beaten to death? Couldn’t they just have punched him in his smug face a couple of times? It seems a bit harsh of a reaction. Again, yes, wearing flowers in your beard is a pathetic way of drawing attention to yourself . . . But murdering that person?! I mean come on now, that’s sooo unoriginal!”
