A courtroom meltdown may have cost former television judge Joe Brown his chance at becoming the next District Attorney of Shelby County, Tennessee.

Brown, who starred in “Judge Joe Brown” from 1997-2013, was arrested after losing control and becoming verbally abusive in a Memphis courtroom on Monday, reports WREG.

The former judge blew up after court workers told him they had no record of a case he was representing in Juvenile Court. The judge asked Brown to calm down but he refused.

He was ordered to spend five days in jail, reports TMZ.

Brown’s long-running syndicated series was cancelled last year after he was unable to reach a salary agreement with CBS.
