MoMA PS1 director throws party for art crowd in Rockaways

Klaus Biesenbach — the director of Long Island City’s MoMA PS1 — hosted a lavish bash for an appropriately arty crowd in the garden of his Rockaways beach house.

Biesenbach was joined last weekend by 40 guests including gallerist Gavin Brown, eBay chief curator Michael Phillips Moskowitz, artists Ryan McNamara and Alex Da Corte, photographers Henry Leutwyler and Erik Madigan Heck and author Andrew Durbin, among others.

The party also celebrated Out of Order magazine’s fourth edition.

Guests circulated in Biesenbach’s outdoor space with lit torches, tea candles and kitschy flamingos.

We’re told that after dinner and dancing, they all headed to the beach for a “moonlight swim.”
