Anna Wintour, the steely editor-in-chief of Vogue, rose to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by allowing the kids in her family to dump cold water on her head in the name of charity.
The 64-year-old, wearing her signature outsize sunglasses and a strappy flowered dress, squeals with horror during the soaking on the grounds of her ritzy Hamptons vacation home.
“I, Anna Wintour, with my family, accept my daughter Bee’s ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and I nominate Roger Federer and Dominic West,” the poker-faced editrix states in a video of the stunt posted to Vogue’s Facebook page.
She suffers the indignity for a few seconds before jumping out of her seat — but not before her immaculate trademark bob gets ruined.
We’re sure Wintour had a team of stylists on hand to quickly return her hairdo to its former glory.
Meanwhile, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge — which has been accepted by stars including Ben Affleck and Oprah — has become a viral Internet sensation, raising $31.5 million so far for the ALS Association to research Lou Gehrig’s disease.
