Seth Rogen, a very funny man, is deadly serious about Alzheimer’s, the disease afflicting his mother-in-law.
Rogen is astonished that the video of his testimony last month before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health & Human Services has been downloaded 6 million times.
“It’s C-SPAN’s second most watched video after Obama’s inauguration,” Rogen told me. “It was an amazing opportunity to get the conversation moving forward.”
Rogen brings his Hilarity for Charity fund-raiser, which is dedicated to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s, to New York for the first time on April 8.
The actor, who will emcee the Jane Hotel event, is lining up other stand-up comics and a musical performance.
As for his other cause, Rogen is happy that states like Colorado and Washington have decriminalized marijuana.
“It’s definitely a step toward the rational, which is not always what I expect from society,” he said.
Rogen was about to catch a plane to Austin, Texas, to promote “Neighbors,” the comedy he produced and stars in with Rose Byrne. They play a couple with a newborn baby who have to cope with a beer-swilling Zac Efron after they are forced to live next to a frat house.
