New York’s best-dressed women were front and center for Dennis Basso’s fall-winter 2014 show at Lincoln Center.
Mary J Blige discussed the looks with celeb stylist June Ambrose, while also front-row were supermodel Carol Alt, Debra Messing, Sarah Rafferty, Guiliana Rancic and socialites Olivia Palermo and Zani Gugelmann.
Inspired by American artists, Basso’s collection featured hand-painted satin and vibrantly colored furs. Leading the ovation, as a slimmed-down Basso (thanks to a recent spa trip) took a victory lap, were Andre Leon Talley, Beyoncé’s stylist Ty Hunter, Dori Cooperman, Jennifer Creel, Julie Macklowe and new Saks Fifth Avenue president Marigay McKee.
Ambrose told us, “It was romantic with a retro twist. I smell Oscar carpet!”
